Today there are all sorts of car shows that happen all over the world that millions of people enjoy. It just so happens that this year’s SEMA show is one of the most highly anticipated in the world of car trade.

What adds more to the excitement of attendees is not only the fact that they will see premier and specialty automotive, but that it’s a show that is not open to the general public.

With that said, this year, the show gathered 60,000 domestic and international buyers with hundreds of specialty cars on display. This car makes it into our top 20 best cars from SEMA for the fact that like vintage cars. This car, dubbed “the Craftsman Racer” is designed to resemble a Ford 999 racing car. It has two Model T engines, but despite this, it is only able to produce 80 horsepower.

Just imagine how much fun you’ll have driving (and holding onto) the steering wheel as you stay on the seat.

When you walk through the corridors of the SEMA show, one of the most common cars you’d probably bump into is a Jeep. This 1946 Willys CJ-2A Dual Dualie has a total of 8 tires. This makes it to our list just because it’s not a car for showing off, racing or glitzy and shiny like most of the cars on display—it’s a jeep with a purpose.

It is fitted with farm-ready contraptions such as a buzzsaw, mowing arm, winch and welder among others.

If you are a fan of the Game of Thrones, there’s no doubt that the name of this car rings a bell. This makes it to our list simply because of the design. It is unique…and definitely reminds us of the Game of Thrones.

This car is powered by a Ford 5.0L Coyote V-8—so it basically has the same power as a Mustang GT. However, all that ‘Valyrian’ weight won’t give this car the speed it needs.

Reportedly, it took more than 2000 hours to complete and technically, it isn’t even finished yet!

If you want a twist on your usual Volkswagen bus, you will like this Surf Seeker. While this looks like the usual Volkswagen bus, when you look closely, you will see that it is entirely customised. It is fast since it has been fitted with a supercharged VW flat-four and the weight is less than the typical Volkswagen bus as well.

Mishimoto Tank

Do we really need to say anything more as to why this should be in our top 20 best cars from SEMA?

LSx Willys Jeep

LSx Willys Jeep

This Jeep has appeared in YouTube videos before, where it dispatches supercars at the drag strip. It packs 750-plus-hp, it is lightweight and superpowered. Would we dare to drive this? Probably not. Just watch the videos and you’ll know what we mean.

Badger Airbrush Company Smart Fortwo

This Fortwo definitely makes it into our list for the brushwork—and those horns!

1967 Datsun 1600

1967 Datsun 1600

The vintage look stops at the appearance. This Datsun 1600 is actually a hugely powerful sports car, it is fitted with a Garrett turbocharger that gives it roughly 500 horsepower. It has a six-speed manual transmission.

You definitely shouldn’t judge a book by its cover for this handsome roadster.

Based on a 1940 Mercury, this car has been totally redone. Everything about this coupe is custom from the detailing, taillights, luggage, suspension, engine, interiors—the whole thing. No doubt, the owner is very proud.

Wouldn’t you be proud as well?

This e-Golf is gorgeous. There are many things unexpected about this, such as the slammed suspension.

We think that this electric Golf definitely rates as a “cool car”.

This shiny Camaro may look normal on the outside, but once you look into the engine, the other Camaros may be forgotten. It is powered by an LT4 crate engine, as well as mated to a T56 manual transmission. It is a beast.

Some of the features and accessories for this car has been shown to be “unavailable for sale”.

Performance-wise? I would love to take this for a spin, wouldn’t you?

While this rusty piece may look old and tacky when placed aside all the shiny cars displayed on the show, underneath it all is an inline-six engine from an E34 M5 and is considered a beast as it has been tuned to almost 500hp.

This car was actually destroyed in a fire before it was restored. How cool is that?

Ludacris’ Acura Legend

Ludacris’ Acura Legend

This car looks strangely out of place against the shiny and jacked-up cars on the show. However, the Ludacris factor kicks in and gives this stock-looking car a fair chance at being at our top 20 best cars from SEMA show. This Acura Legend was once destroyed in an accident, but Luda restored it and improved it without losing its original look.

This classic has mostly retained its original parts. It is a 1978 model, with its original paint and an odometer that displays fewer than 3000 miles. It even still has its original front brush-guard and light-bar.

The treat comes from what’s within the Jeep – it is fully fitted with the 70’s Levi’s fabric interior. The door panels and seats are made from Levi’s denim.

KUHL Racing Nissan GT-R

KUHL Racing Nissan GT-R

This car definitely makes it into our list simply because of its hand-engraved paint finish. This Nissan GT-R was shipped from Tokyo to be at SEMA. No doubt, it was one of the most noticeable cars at the show!

Ringbrothers Carbon-Fiber 1965 Ford Mustang Wide-Body Kit

Ringbrothers Carbon-Fiber 1965 Ford Mustang Wide-Body Kit

This stunning custom Ford Mustang is the more attainable alternative to the 959-hp “Espionage” which is also in the show. The body for this Mustang was built from the ground up and it includes a hood, trunklid, front and rear fascia, grille surround, rear quarter and sail panels, a rear bumper, doors, fenders, wheel tubs and a roof panel. All this was fitted on a custom chassis.

The Ringbrothers has been part of the SEMA show annually. This year, they brought in the spy-Green coloured “Espionage”. While the body structure looks like the factory 1965 Ford Mustang, the whole car is actually made from carbon fiber. If you think that’s the best thing about it, you should hear about the staggering 959-hp and 858 ft-lb of torque. These numbers definitely put the Espionage in our pick!

Koni Shocks / Flyin’ Miata 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Koni Shocks Flyin Miata 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Again, you can never go wrong with a Miata—especially this Mazda MX-5 Miata. This is one of the best-selling roadsters of all time!

The only thing better than this is to have our name on it!

So there you have it, our 20 best cars from SEMA 2015. Looking forward for next year!
