The Toyota GT86 has been a fan favourite everywhere. Japan, the US and Asia already have their own 2017 version of this cool two door coupe. Now the UK will have its own version and it is quite possibly the best of the bunch.

The UK version of the Toyota GT86 has been remade from top to bottom according to its designers.
The power plant though is the same 2.0 litre four cylinder boxer engine still produces 197bhp and 156 lb-ft of torque. The performance figures remain unchanged.
While the engine remains the same, the interesting bit is the addition of the “Track Mode”. Toyota has reworked the responsiveness of the car with what they learned from racing the GT86 in competitions such as the Nurburgring 24H race. The track mode adjusts the traction and stability control making the car more responsive. If you want even more fun, there is also a button that turns both traction and stability controls off.
Underneath the car, there are some improvements. The shocks and springs have been tuned to give even better handling than its predecessor. Some minor facelift includes rework on the rear taillights to add what they call “horizontal effect”. The new front grille also helps improve the airflow around the car. The “Pro” version of the GT86 also adds rear spoilers for additional downforce.
The GT86 also gets some aesthetics as part of the makeover. There is a new pair of adaptive LED headlights and indicator lamps are now located in the headlight cluster. The GT86 sports a three-spoke steering wheel, 4.2 inch TFT touch screen instrument display, and a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels. Another feature that is worth mentioning is the rev counter has changed orientation so that the peak RPM of 7000 is at the top of the dial.
The Toyota GT86 will be available in four trims: standard manual, standard automatic and the Pro manual and automatic versions. The price range is £25,954 for the standard manual, £27,495 for the standard automatic. The Pro manual version comes in at £27,095 and £28,695 for the automatic Pro model.
