The new Audi A and Q Models will Feature new Design and Tech Revolution

Other than the gorgeous looking R8, Audi’s fleet looks a bit on the dull side with every car looking just like the next model. Well, there will be a design renaissance in Audi lead by design director Mark Lichte. The next generation of Audis namely the A8, A7, A6 and the Q8 will be arriving in quick succession and in that order. The revolution in design includes a more adventurous exterior, sleek buttonless interior and self-driving technology or Artificial Intelligence which is what Audi plans on calling it.

What can we expect with the A and Q models?

The A8 will be arriving first next March at the Geneva Motor Show. The car will be featuring a “level 3 piloted system” which lets the car take control at speeds not exceeding 60mph. The car also features automated parallel parking, remotely controlling the car backing into the garage, and an app the will make car keys obsolete.

The A7 and A6 will also have a makeover to distinguish them from each other. The A7 will sport a flatter and wider grille, plunging roofline and a design feature what Audi calls the “equator line”. The A7 also has a full-width tail light to highlight its flagship model status. The A6 will be the first of the mainstream Audis to feature a hybrid powertrain. Both models along with the A8 will have the daytime running lights as a standard feature.

The Q8 is the new cousin of the Q7 SUV. The five-seater Q8 has a lower stance, wider wheelbase and has more luxurious bits than the Q7. The Q8 will feature the A7’s full-width tail lights, bigger wheels and a sleeker and more sculpted body design. The Q-series SUVs will be featuring a hexagonal grille as opposed to the octagonal ones in A models.
