Jaguar has been known as more of a luxury car manufacturer fit for executives who want to drive themselves in fast but elegant-looking cars. The X-Type and the XJ appeal to the working executive than the Ferrari or Lamborghini of the ultra-rich; but all that is about to change, with the introduction of a Jaguar that pushes the boundaries of speed to the limits.
Meet the fastest production Jaguar in the Jaguar F-Type SVR
The Jaguar F-Type SVR is the second car in the Jaguar Land Rover stable to bear the SVR badge after the Range Rover Sport SVR. The SVR badge comes from the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) performance division that tweaks existing models much like the M-Power division in BMW.

The Jaguar F-Type SVR comes in two variants: the coupe and convertible. The cars though are more than just upgrades of the Project 7 F-type, which had a limited run. The F-Type SVR is powered by a supercharged 5.0 liter V8 that produces a mighty 567bhp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The car can reach speeds of 200mph and can sprint to 60mph from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds. The original F-Type could manage 186mph.

The new F-Type has an 8-speed automatic gearbox and all wheel drive that has an electronically-controlled clutch. The all-wheel drive has a rear bias and will only engage the front wheels when the back wheels starts to slip. This means that the car is mostly rear wheel drive until it needs to transfer power to the front wheels for better traction.
Other additions that make the Jaguar F-Type SVR a proper sports car
The front bumper has been changed to be more aerodynamic as well as adding front splitters. The car under-body has been flattened to reduce drag. The active rear spoilers deploy at high speeds (70mph for the coupe and 60mph for the convertible).
The car also features weight savings with the new titanium exhaust system that shaves 35 pounds and makes better noise. The total weight that was lost is around 55 pounds. The weight reduction can be increased to 110 pounds if you order the carbon ceramic disk brakes, carbon fiber roof panel and exterior trim package.
The car also features adaptive dynamic suspension, torque vectoring, and “bespoke calibration” for the 8-speed transmission and all-wheel drive system. The wheels on this Jaguar are 20-inch forged alloy wheels.
The Jaguar F-Type SVR coupe will set you back £110,000 for the coupe and £115,485 for the convertible. The car will arrive in early summer of 2016.
