The Range Rover line was last updated in 2012 and it is high time to breathe some new life into this luxury SUV. The update not only brings some fresh technology into the Range Rover line but also some extra horsepower just in case you feel that the old one didn’t live up to your expectations.

The new 2017 Range Rover is the most powerful Range Rover ever thanks to the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine capable of producing 542bhp and 502 lb-ft of torque. The Range Rover can accelerate from zero to 62mph in 5 seconds and reach a top speed of 140mph. The engine is paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.

The upgrades do not stop with the powerplant. The suspension has been upgraded including lowering the ride height by 8mm and improving handling. The new Dynamic Response system controls the front and rear axle independently to reduce body roll. The system also reacts to the driver inputs and road surface changes by stiffening up the suspension to make the Range Rover more agile when needed.
The new Range Rover also has semi-autonomous driving features. The car can recognise road signs while on adaptive cruise control and slow the vehicle down when needed. The ‘low traction launch’ control system helps you get out of sticky situations like being stuck in a mud pit or slipping in snow covered terrain by managing torque more effectively.
If you prefer something more pedestrian than the big V8, there is another option. The smaller 3.0 litre supercharged V6 can produce 340bhp and 332 lb-ft of torque. The engine is the same engine found in the Jaguar F-Type.

The 2017 Range Rover will be on sale this winter at a cool £132,000 for the V8 model. For the same amount of cash, you can buy a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S or an Audi TTS. So, are you sold on the new Range Rover? Let us know in the comment section below.
