Ferraris are supposed to be powerful just like the prancing pony on the emblem of the car. Well, no one ever complained about a Ferrari being wimpy and slow. But as gearheads, we would always argue that more horsepower is better and more fun!

The Ferrari 488 GTB just got an upgrade that will surely make any gearhead happy.
Novitec Rosso, a German performance tuner, took the existing Ferrari 488 GTB and made it just a tad bit more powerful.
How powerful you ask? Under the bonnet is a 3.9 litre turbocharged V8 that produces 761bhp and 658lb-ft of torque. That is 100bhp and 97lb-ft of torque more than the original engine could produce. The Novitec 488 can run from zero to 62mph sprint in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 213mph.
What Novitec did was to remap the engine control unit which changed the ignition, injection and boost control characteristics to provide more power and torque. Owners can also choose which high-performance exhaust to install to the supercar. There is an optional electronic sound management module too.

The bodywork upgrade focused on aerodynamic efficiency. All the additional bits to improve the aerodynamics are made of carbon fibre. The tail lights have been given a tint and the wheels are 21s in front and 22s at the rear wrapped in Pirelli P Zeros. The stance has been lowered by 35mm and there is a nose lift function when you have to negotiate speed bumps.
Novitec has not released how much the upgrade will set you back. Interested 488 GTB owners can enquire with Novitec on how to upgrade their Ferraris to the next level. There are also levels of customizations to the 488 GTB that are not as extreme. Stay tuned for more news on other customizations for your supercars here.
