A lot of us fancy a good supercar. Those lucky enough to own one (or more) sometimes take the time to unleash the petrol beasts out on the track. Others can afford ultra-rare track only supercars like the Ferrari FXX or the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.
And then there is the McLaren 570S GT4, a budget GT4 racer.
If you fancy starting your own racing team, then the McLaren 570S GT4 is for you. It still sports the same 3.5-liter twin turbo V8 from the 570S road car. It has 562bhp and can reach a top speed of 204mph. It can accelerate to 62mph in 3.2 seconds. The power is delivered to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.
While nothing has changed under the hood, the 570S GT4 does get some upgrades. There is the new carbon fiber rear wing and front splitters. These will add some much-needed downforce to keep the car on the track. The hood has two intake vents to help cool the engine down during intense track sessions. There is no mention but it is likely that the interior has been stripped down to save weight.

McLaren 570S GT4 will debut on April 16 at Brands Hatch.
The 570S GT4 will be available to private owners in 2017. This year, the car will be tested in the British GT championships. The 570S GT4 will compete with the likes of the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport and the Aston Martin V8 Vantage along with some of the Maserati and Lotus supercars.
The car is not road legal which means it cannot clear speed bumps. The price of the 570S GT4 is £159,000 which is around £16,000 more than the road version. For that amount, you will get all the carbon fiber upgrades and a nice set of wheels. Makes you wonder if they will make a road legal version of the 570S GT4 in the future.
