The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) or German Touring Car Masters has been a breeding ground for future Formula One drivers. The most notable Formula One drivers in the DTM would be Mika Hakkinen, David Coulthard and Ralf Schumacher.

The BMW M4 GTS sports a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 which churns out 493bhp and 442lb-ft of torque. It can, at least on paper, compete with the 4.0 litre V8 DTM cars that have their engines limited to 500bhp. The M4 GTS is quick, sprinting from nought to 62mph in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 190mph. All that power is transferred to the road via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.
The M4 has 68bhp more power than the standard M4 and also gets trim, shaving off some 200lbs. Along with the increased power comes some other performance bits. It sports an all new Akrapovic exhaust system, coil over suspension and a new water injection system.
The water injection system is the first ever used in a road car. It sprays a fine mist of water on the intake manifolds to lower the operating temperature inside the engine and allows the turbo to give more boost.
The M4 GTS owes its lower weight to the carbon fibre parts like the hood. The centre console has also been replaced by carbon fibre to further reduce weight. They also took away the rear seats to save weight.
Safety Features in the Safety Car
Since this is a Safety Car, it sports a roll cage, in Acid Orange to match the headlights. The seats are equipped with six-point harness seatbelts and there is even a fire extinguisher. The car also has the flashy LED lights on the roof and all the Safety Car decals.

The lucky guy driving this car is Jurgen Kastenholz. He has been the safety car driver for the DTM since 2010. He has also driven the standard M4 as the safety car for the DTM.

The BMW M4 GTS has a limited production run of 700 units. The listed price is $134,200 USD, which is almost the same as a Porsche GT3 RS.
