A Nissan GT-R Runs 7.44 Second Quarter Mile

Do not blink or you will surely miss it!

The Nissan GT-R is not just quick around the fabled Nurburgring but also on the drag strip. Well, it is just quick, period! But what happens when you take stock GT-R and increase its power by FOUR times and let it loose on the drag strip? What happens is what you see above!

The team from EKanooRacing and T1 Racing combined forces to make this beast of a GT-R. The factory spec Nissan GT-R comes with an already massive 478hp. The GT-R in the video was modified to produce a jaw-dropping 2,000bhp. That is quadruple the power of the stock GT-R. Other details about how they achieved such a feat are few but one can assume that they made the twin turbochargers a whole lot bigger.

Nissan GT-R: The Ideal Drag Machine

What makes the Nissan GT-R an ideal drag machine is the fact that it has all-wheel drive. Power is transferred to all the wheels to get it going a bit faster from a dead stop. The all-wheel drive system also keeps it from slipping and sliding at the starting line.

This particular GT-R has clearly been stripped down when you look at the missing door trimmings. The light weight car reached a top speed of 200mph while flying down the track. The performance is way beyond what the ultra-expensive hypercars can do. The Ferrari LaFerraria, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 all can do 10 second quarter mile times at an average of 145mph. And these hypercars cost five to eight times more than the stock GT-R.

EKanooRacing and T1 are no strangers to 2,000bhp monster cars. They are also the team behind the six-second Toyota Supra and the four-second Lexus ISF. The group is a drag specialist team that constantly pushes the boundaries of what is possible. The engineering behind their creations is probably some of the best in the world.

So, if you had the money, would you go for a sleek hypercar or this Nissan GT-R that flies down the track like a bat out of hell?
