The Koenigsegg Agera One:1 and Regera Side By Side

This is what super car dreams are made of! If you love the sound of rumbling engines, then turn up the volume to the max because this one will surely make you grin from ear to ear.

The video features not one but two of the Koenigsegg’s premiere hypercars: the Agera One:1 and the Regera.

The Agera One:1 vs. the Regera

There are only seven Agera One:1 and all have been sold. This car boasts of an insane 1:1 power to weight ratio. The power to weight ratio is something that is rarely seen in cars outside the racetrack but this is a street legal hyper car. The 5.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine produces 1,361PS (or 1,342 bhp) of power to match its 1,361 kilos of weight. With the output of more than one megawatt of power, Koenigsegg claims that this is the world’s first “megacar”.

The Koenigsegg Regera is a hybrid hypercar that has even more muscle under the bonnet than the One:1. The Regera features a 5.0 liter twin turbo V8 engine that can crank out a massive 1,100bhp and 944 ft-lb of torque. And to add to that already massive output are 3 electric engines that have a total power output of 697bhp and 663 ft-lb of torque. That’s a total of around 1,800bhp but the peak power at the driver’s disposal is around 1,500bhp and 1,475 ft-lb of torque. At lower speeds only the electric motors are running and the Regera has a range of 35miles on purely electric power.

The One:1 has a top speed of 451 km/h while accelerating to 100km/h in 2.8 seconds. The Regera has a tad bit slower top speed of 410km/h while having a similar 0 to 100km/h time of 2.8 seconds. The difference is mainly due to the weight of the cars. The One:1 is around 280kg lighter than the Regera which has a kerb weight of 1,628 kgs. Another difference is that the Regera uses the Koenigsegg Direct Drive which features just one fixed gear transmission in comparison to the seven speed transmission on the One:1. Both factors make help the One:1 perform better than the Regera.

The Regera has a full luxury interior that features memory foam seats and an infotainment system. It also offers a set of cameras, ambient lighting and even Wi-fi connectivity! On the flipside, the One:1 sacrifices a lot of things to save on weight. It has a smaller trunk space and the removable roof cannot be stowed away in the trunk because of a roof scoop. The One:1 is designed more as a track car than a street machine.

The Koenigsegg One:1 had a very small production run of 7 units and all have been sold. The Regera has a bigger production run of 80 cars. The One:1 costs $2.8 million USD while the Regera is marginally cheaper at $1.9 million USD. Koenigsegg refers to the Regera as a more “practical” everyday hypercar with its hybrid engine and electric drive.

So, which hypercar will you dream of having?
