FitMyCar offers a quality aftermarket alternative to the products sold through dealerships at a fraction of the price. As part of the Future Industries Manufacturing Program, the Minister for Industry and Employment Wade Noonan visited the facility in Ravenhall recently to announce a boost for the manufacturer.
FitMyCar has recently completed extensive upgrades to its Ravenhall manufacturing facility. This has resulted in significant improvements in production efficiencies as well as reskilling three employees and creating additional jobs.
The grant from the Victorian Government has enabled FitMyCar to purchase and install a computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine, transforming the company’s manual manufacturing process into a highly automated workflow system.
The CNC machine will also help increase exports to the US market. Currently supplying to the Australian market and exporting to New Zealand, Fit My Car is set to ramp up its exposure in the US market later this year.
A large project is underway to build stock of patterns specifically for the US market. Fit My Car plan to expand into the US market later in 2016. “We are confident that with our new facilities and machinery we can successfully launch into the USA market manufacturing right here in Australia and be able to keep up with demand. Our new cutting machine means we can be super responsive to order levels, scaling up and down production volumes each day.” James Tinsley, Director at FitMyCar.
