The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento is a very rare beast. There are only 20 of them in the whole world and apparently one of them is in Qatar. The Elemento was designed to be a track race car but what happens when an owner decides to take it out on the open roads?
Here is a video of one such owner happily driving his car around the streets of Qatar. Crank up the volume and enjoy the sounds of an accelerating Lamborghini.
What is the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento made of?
The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento is lightweight, high-performance supercar. The engine that powers this beast is a 5.2 liter 570bhp V10 which is the same engine underneath the hood of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera. The Elemento can go from naught to 60mph in a blistering 2.5 seconds and can reach speeds of 198mph. The transmission is a six-speed semi-automatic transmission and has all wheel drive.
The Sesto Elemento when translated in English means “sixth element” which is carbon. The car body is made up mostly of carbon fiber including the chassis, drive shaft and some of its suspension components. The overall weight of the car is just 999 kilos which are about the weight of an average sub-compact sedan. The power to weight ratio of the car is 0.57hp/kg which explains why the car accelerates so fast. The price for one of these is a cool $2.8 million US dollars.
Hearing the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento in action
In the video, you can see that the owner happily punches the throttle and you can hear how lovely the engine sounds when it’s unleashed. You can also see the interior of the car which is quite bare with the only creature comforts inside being the air conditioning unit and a car stereo.
The idea of taking a carbon fiber car isn’t a really good idea, though. The owner surely has enough money to play around with it anywhere because he can afford the car and he even took a Rolls Royce along as a chase car.
But we are all glad he took the time to share the video. I am sure most of you had the volume up to max and watched the video a couple of times just to hear the engine roar.
